MAUNDY THURSDAY

March 28, 2024, 7:00 p.m.
Gilbert Presbyterian Church

We will join with our siblings in Christ from Mission del Sol Presbyterian Church and Gilbert Presbyterian Church to commemorate Maundy Thursday.

“Maundy” translates through the Old French mande and the later Latin mandātum, which means “mandate” or “commandment.” Maundy Thursday, also known as Holy Thursday, that commemorates the last supper between Jesus and his disciples before he was crucified on Friday. It also commemorates in John’s gospel when Jesus showed what servant leadership looks like as he humbled himself by washing his disciple’s feet. In John 13.34, Jesus says, “I give you a new commandment, that you love one another; even as I have loved you, that you also love one another.”
